Detailed Information
The Jerusalem Artichoke (Helianthus tuberosus), including the cultivar ‘Stampede’, is native to **eastern North America**.
While its common name suggests a connection to Jerusalem, it has nothing to do with the Middle East. The name is thought to be a corruption of the Italian word for sunflower, “girasole,” or possibly a reference to the “New Jerusalem” in the New World.
