## Mamidikaya Pappu Recipe – Andhra Pappu – Raw Mango Dal – Easy & Delicious Recipe

### Ingredients for Mamidikaya Pappu Recipe – Andhra Pappu – Raw Mango Dal:

* 1 cup Arhar dal (Split Toor Dal)
* 1 Mango (Raw) – peeled and chopped
* 1 tablespoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
* 1 Onion – finely chopped
* 1 Tomato – finely chopped
* 4 cloves Garlic
* 3 Dry Red Chillies
* 1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
* 10 Curry leaves

### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Mamidikaya Pappu Recipe – Andhra Pappu – Raw Mango Dal:

1. firstly wash arhar dal/toor dal thoroughly in running water.
2. Add arhar dal and grated raw mangoes in a pressure cooker, along with a teaspoon of turmeric powder and a bit of salt to taste.
3. Pressure cook on high heat for 3-4 whistles and turn off the heat.
4. Once the pressure cooker cools down on its own, mash the cooked toor dal thoroughly with a masher, or the backside of a ladle.
5. For the tempering, heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan.
6. Once the oil is hot, add dry red chillies and crushed garlic pods, and saute it until it is golden brown and the raw aroma of the garlic goes away.
7. Immediately add curry leaves and stir till they sizzling stops.
8. Add the chopped onions and saute until golden brown, or caramelized.
9. Now add the tomatoes and cook until soft and mushy.
10. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add mashed dal contents from the pressure cooker and stir the Mamidikaya Pappu to combine.
11. Cook the Mamidikaya Pappu Recipe on a low heat for about 2 minutes and switch off heat.
12. Your Mamidikaya Pappu is ready to be served.
13. Serve Mamidikaya Pappu Recipe (Raw Mango Dal) with Panasa Pottu Aava Koora Recipe- Andhra style Mustard Flavoured Raw Jackfruit Curry and steamed rice with Andhra Style Paruppu Podi Recipe (Dal Podi) to make it a complete Andhra style meal.
