* 1 tablespoon Sunflower Oil
* 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
* 1 sprig Curry leaves
* 2 Dry Red Chillies
* Salt – to taste
* 1/2 cup Chana dal (Bengal Gram Dal) – soaked for 2 hours
* 1/2 cup Fresh coconut – grated
* 6 Dry Red Chillies
* 1 teaspoon Coriander (Dhania) Seeds
* Curry leaves – few
* 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds (Jeera)
* 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder (Haldi)
* 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida (hing)
### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Menthya Matvadi Palya Recipe – Madhwa Brahmin Style Methi-Chana Dal Sabzi:
1. To prepare Matwadi Palya Recipe (Madhwa Brahmin Style Methi-Chana Dal Sabzi); drain the water from the soaked channa dal and grind all the ingredients mentioned under “to grind” adding very little water to make a coarse paste.
2. In a steamer, steam the ground masala till soft, for about 10 minutes on high heat using Idli molds.
