### Ingredients for Udupi Red Parboiled Rice Shavige Recipe:
* 4 cups Red matta rice – boiled
* 1 cup Dosa rice
* 1/2 cup Fresh coconut – grated
* Salt – to taste
* 3 cups Water –
### Step-by-Step Instructions to Make Udupi Red Parboiled Rice Shavige Recipe:
1. soak red parboiled rice and dosa rice in water for 8 to 10 hours.
2. Drain water and grind it to very smooth paste adding little water along with grated coconut.
3. Add salt to taste.
4. Don’t make thin paste, the batter should be spoonable thick.
5. To a greased container, fill the ground thick batter.
6. Place it in a steamer and cook for 30 to 35 minutes.
7. Check if its cooked by piercing a toothpick.
8. If it is done, the toothpick will come out clean.
9. Unmould from the container and place the cooked dough into the idiyappam press when it is hot.
10. Press in a circular shape.
11. You will see strands of Red Parboiled Rice Shavige coming.
12. Serve Red Parboiled Rice Shavige with fresh coconut milk / season it as lemon sevai.
13. Serve Shavige along with South Indian Coconut Chutney or you can make other recipes like Kara Sevai.
